A Few Words from the Library Services Faculty

The Division of Library Services offers a full range of materials, equipment and services selected to support and enrich the college's educational program. In addition to the general book collection, the Library provides reference sources, current and back-issues of periodicals, electronic indexes and databases, an extensive pamphlet collection, art prints, film, multimedia, CDs, slides, tapes, videos, laser discs, maps and microcomputer software. An online statewide library catalog, LINCC, provides access to the materials in the collection. Group instruction and individual assistance in library usage is available as well as a wide variety of printed instructional materials.

The Library is staffed by professional librarians, classified staff employees and student workers. These staff members are available throughout the day and evening to assist patrons making use of our comprehensive reference and information services, media production services, and automated circulation and reserve systems as well as accessing information beyond the Library's walls through Interlibrary Loan, Internet and online databases. The Library also houses the campus' educational access channel, Channel 22, a state-of-the-art production facility and three satellite dishes for downlinks. The TCC Library Web page is located at http://www.tcc.fl.edu/dept/library/

On behalf of the staff, we would like to welcome you to the Division of Library Services and encourage you to use our services, materials and equipment as often as possible. This handbook will acquaint you with the basic services and material that are available to you. Please take time to familiarize yourself with its contents. If you have questions or comments or need additional information, please contact our office, your liaison librarian or another staff member.
