Seminars and Programs
The Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership supports faculty through offering many professional development activities. Two of our cornerstone programs are the New Faculty Seminars and the Adjunct Faculty Advancement Program.
Individual assistance is also available to promote the professional development of faculty members and learning center staff. To make an appointment to discuss your professional development, call the Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership at 201-6208 or email ctll@tcc.fl.edu.
New Faculty Seminars
The First and Second Year Seminars for New Faculty bring together the new faculty members from all areas of the College in a collegial and informal setting. Many new faculty members bring years of experience and professional expertise to TCC and the First Year Seminar provides a venue for new faculty to learn from each other as well as learn about TCC.
Academy of Teaching, Learning, and Success (ATLAS)
ATLAS is an opportunity for you to connect with other colleagues, learn more about TCC's resources to support faculty and students, and ultimately, to support and expand knowledge, skills, and abilities related to teaching and learning at TCC.
Adjunct Faculty Advancement Program (AFAP)
The Adjunct Faculty Advancement Program is a program to engage and reward adjunct faculty for service to the College and commitment to student learning and professional growth.
Academy of Adjunct Professors (AP)
Adjunct Faculty who have been inducted into the Academy of Adjunct Professors demonstrate a high level of commitment to constantly enhancing and enriching student learning. TCC is grateful for the dedication and efforts of these adjuncts who go above and beyond to annually implement new methods and strategies along with participating in professional development activities to improve student achievement.
Legacy Lecture Series
Tallahassee Community College is honored to have such diverse faculty dedicated to student learning. As members of our faculty community move into retirement, the Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership wants to provide a venue for retiring faculty to share valuable experiences in and out of the classroom along with lessons learned in their careers and lives. Legacy Lecture was created and designed to be such a venue.
Comment on New Faculty Seminars
"Being a member of the TCC community has been a very positive experience for me. When I had first started teaching here at TCC, I was brand new to the environment and even prior to my first day here was welcomed with open arms by the TCC family. The First-Second and Third-Year Seminar series have been a wonderful support to me as I have worked to solidify my place here at TCC both with my colleagues and with my students. The seminars hosted by CTE have not only exposed me to new ideas which have helped me to grow professionally, but knowing where I can get answers to my questions has helped me better connect with my colleagues around campus and build lasting professional relationships."

Comment on New Faculty Seminars
"I have come to realize that the everyday exchanges with my fellow instructors have been the greatest source of inspiration for me. Having the privilege to become acquainted with colleagues outside my immediate department has exposed me to many new facets of the teaching/learning experience. Collaborations with my teammates in developing ways to incorporate mobile technologies in the classroom have led to the formation of professional relationships that I will value throughout my career at TCC."
