Title III
Welcome to the Title III - Pathways to Success page at Tallahassee Community College! This website will serve as a source of information on grant activity and on-going TCC grant sponsored projects. The Title III - Strengthening Institutions grant was awarded to Tallahassee Community College by the U.S. Department of Education in October 2006.
"The purpose of the Title III program is to provide grants to eligible institutions of higher education to improve their academic programs, institutional management, and fiscal stability in order to increase their self-sufficiency and strengthen their capacity to make a substantial contribution to the higher education resources of the Nation." (*34 CFR 607.1)
The TCC Title III program seeks to transform student success through two key efforts:
- The Re-Engineering of Student Support and Tracking Services, and
- The Redesign for the Developmental Studies Curriculum and Learning Assistance programs.
A Title III Grant Policies and Procedures Manual is in place to ensure that:
- resources are used in a manner consistent with Tallahassee Community College Policies and Procedures as well as outlined U.S. Department of Education Policies;
- grant resources are safeguarded against waste, loss, and misuse;
- reliable data is obtained, maintained, and fairly reported;
- personnel are of a quality commensurate with their responsibilities;
- records are adequate to support that the College essentially carries out the project as described in the application (or as appropriately modified); and
- our system of authorization and recording is adequate to provide effective accounting controls over revenues and expenditures.
