Facilities

Academic Computing Center

The Academic Computing Center houses a variety of labs available for student use. The ACC also has five computer classrooms used by the English Department, each featuring 30 individual computers for student instruction. The STEM Center, located on the first floor, provides a wide range of support services to students working towards degrees and/or careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Services include tutoring, mentoring, internships, networking and academic advisement. The STEM Center is home of TCC’s Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, the HP-MESA Program and the STEM Star Program.

 

Academic Support

The Academic Support Building is adjacent to the Dental Hygiene Building and houses computer labs, classrooms and faculty offices.

 

Advanced Manufacturing Training Center

The Advanced Manufacturing Training Center is the site of customized, technologically advanced training for current and prospective workers in the region’s manufacturing sector. The 24,300-square-foot AMTC, located on West Pensacola Street between Progress Drive and Century Park Drive, includes classrooms, technology training labs and incubation space for businesses starting new manufacturing processes.

 

Center for Workforce Development

The Center for Workforce Development is one of the most technologically enhanced conference and continuing education facilities in the Southeast. The Center has dramatically influenced the role TCC plays in the community's economic and workforce development initiatives.

The Center, with more than 30,000 square feet, includes a 3,500-square-foot conference room with a standing capacity of 600 and a seating capacity of 350. Strategic breakout rooms are also available for meeting with small groups. Live Webcasting, video conferencing, teleconference downlink, and conference and event planning are but a few of the services offered by the Center.

 

Centre Building

Located in the heart of campus, the Centre Building is home to TCC's Print Shop (first floor) and Campus Police Department (second floor). The Police Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and can be reached at (850) 201-6100.

 

Communications and Humanities Building

The Communications and Humanities building, located east of the Dental Hygiene building, is home to the Division of Communications and Humanities, forensics, Eyrie  literary magazine and Studio Art, where students take classes such as painting, color design and jewelry making. The building also houses a number of multimedia classrooms for courses in English composition, literature, foreign languages, speech, reading, art, music, theatre, forensics, film, journalism and dance.

 

Computer Technology Building

The Computer Technology Building, located on the southeast corner of campus, is highly specialized and houses advanced programs offered in the Division of Technology and Professional Programs. These programs include multimedia, graphic design, digital imaging, video and audio editing, office systems technology and computer programming.

The CT Building features classrooms, lecture halls and offices, all with an emphasis on accommodating the latest in multimedia features.

 

Construction/Industrial Applied Technology

Located on Progress Drive and next door to the University Center, The CIAT is home to University Partner, Thomas University. Additionally it houses hands-on construction classes.

 

Dental Hygiene

The Dental Hygiene Building and Lab is the home of TCC’s Dental Hygiene Program. The facility includes a 15-chair dental hygiene clinic, dental lab and classroom space, as well as program offices.

 

English Building

The English Building is located on the northeast corner of campus and houses classrooms for the English Department and administrative offices for the Division of Communications and Humanities. Originally, the facility housed the administrative offices of the College; when it was repurposed, a second floor was added to provide an additional 22,000 square feet of learning space.

 

Fine and Performing Arts Center

The Fine and Performing Arts Center, located north of the library, exemplifies Tallahassee Community College's commitment to the arts. The Center houses Turner Auditorium, home of TheatreTCC!, the Ralph Hurst Gallery and the TCC Fine Art Gallery, which displays rotating exhibits throughout the year.

TCC's Testing Center and the Center for Teaching Excellence can be found on the second floor.

 

Florida Public Safety Institute

The Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) offers training programs in firefighting, corrections, probation, dispatching, private security and law enforcement intelligence. FPSI is the home of The Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy (PTLEA). The mission remains the same yet the scope of services is greatly broadened. Students are trained to serve and protect in a variety of public safety careers. Located 14 miles from Tallahassee on 1,500 rolling and heavily wooded acres, the Institute offers a unique, world-class learning environment that provides realistic context to the training conducted by subject matter experts from all areas of criminal justice. Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education

Opened in September 2011, the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education is home to the following healthcare programs offered by TCC – diagnostic medical sonography, emergency medical services, nursing, radiologic technology, respiratory care, homemaker health companion, medical administrative specialist, medical billing and coding, national health records specialist, nursing assistant and pharmacy technician.

The 85,000 square foot facility, which sits in the heart of Tallahassee's medical corridor, features cutting-edge technology and allows students’ training to include responding to emergencies in simulated real-time settings. The Ghazvini Center also houses classrooms, conference rooms, a library/learning commons, laboratory space, a simulation center and administrative offices for TCC’s Division of Healthcare Professions. 

 

Hinson Administration Building

Named for TCC's third president, Dr. James H. Hinson, Jr., the Administration Building located on Appleyard Drive, is the gateway to TCC’s campus. 

Visitors and prospective students will find an information hub located in the first floor lobby – a great place to find answers to questions about TCC. The Human Resources Department, Purchasing Department, Business Office and Division of Information Technology are all on the first floor. The second floor consists of the President's Office, Office of Communications and Public Information, Division of Academic Affairs, Division of Administrative Services and the TCC Foundation.

 

Judge Walter T. Moore Science Lecture Hall

Moore Science Lecture Hall, located just north of the Academic Support Building, provides additional classroom space for large, lecture-style classes.

 

Library

Just east of the Student Union, the TCC Library offers a full range of materials, equipment and services designed to support and enrich the College's educational programs. Group instruction and individual assistance is available, as well as 50-plus computers with word processing, Blackboard, database and Internet access.

The library's Fall and Spring hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Special hours for final exams, break periods and Summer semester are set throughout the year.

 

Lifetime Sports Complex

Positioned just north of the Student Union, the Lifetime Sports Complex is a multi-purpose facility providing recreation, classroom instruction and intercollegiate athletic competition. The southern half of the facility contains a full weight room and basketball courts used for various intramural sports. Other activities such as spin, cardio and yoga classes are also offered to students with a valid student ID, free of charge.

The northern gym, popularly known as the "Eagledome," has been home to TCC basketball since 1990 and provides one of the best home court advantages in community college athletics. Athletic coaches and staff, as well as the Department of Recreation and Leisure, are housed in the LSC.

 

Science and Mathematics Annex

The Science and Mathematics Annex is located just east of the Science and Mathematics Building and is home to TCC’s student newspaper, The Talon . Adjunct professors and student success advisors are housed on the second floor.

 

Science and Mathematics Building

The Division of Science and Mathematics is housed in the Science and Mathematics Building. This facility contains modern science and computer laboratories that incorporate state-of-the-art technologies to create an environment that enhances learning and student success. At its center, an open, shaded courtyard provides a perfect place to study between classes or visit with friends.

 

Student Union

At the heart of TCC’s community life is the Student Union. The first floor – home to the TCC Bookstore, a food court and a lounge for studying and relaxing – has become “social central” for students, faculty and staff. TCC’s Department of Campus Life – which includes the Student Government Association, Student Activities, Student Clubs and Organizations, and Office of Student Volunteerism – and Disability Support Services are also located on the first floor.

The second floor houses a wide range of student services. At the One Stop Center, students may address admission, advising, career assistance, fee payment, financial aid and ID cards. Scholarship information and transcripts are also available in the One Stop Center. Additionally, the Division of Student Affairs, as well as the offices of Financial Aid, Enrollment Services and Student Success, the College Reach-Out Program (CROP), International Student Services, Mental Health Services and Veterans Services are found on the second floor.

 

Support Services Building

The Support Services Building, located on the northwest corner of campus, has the following offices under its roof: Facilities Planning, Plant Operations and Maintenance.

 

TCC Capitol Center

TCC Capitol Center, located on the lower level of Tallahassee's Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve the public in a host of ways, including the delivery of community and continuing education courses, business suites and conference and event space. Opened in May 2005, TCC Capitol Center also houses the Florida Society of Association Executives (FSAE) and the FSAE Foundation. The TCC Capitol Center's hours of operation are Monday - Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m., excluding holidays.

 

Technology and Professional Programs Building

The Technology and Professional Programs Building is home to a state-of-the-art learning center for students in the College's health care programs and is located west of the Dental Hygiene building. One area of the building serves as an ambulance bay of a hospital emergency room, including a simulated ambulance interior, gurneys and other necessary medical equipment. The building also houses a human-patient simulator lab, designed to give students hands-on medical training. In addition to the health care area, the facility offers programs ranging from criminal justice and public safety to engineering and accounting.

Classrooms and division offices for Technology and Professional Programs are located on the second floor, while classrooms and division offices for the Division of Health Care Professions can be found on the first floor.

 

The Quincy House

The Quincy House, TCC's Gadsden County Service Center, opened in September 2004. Located at 216 North Adams Street in downtown Quincy, it is the focal point for TCC's efforts to work more closely with Gadsden County students, parents, schools, businesses and community groups. A key function of the 3,800 square foot facility is providing career counseling, financial aid counseling, application support, class placement, entrance exams and other educational services.

The Quincy House provides a computer lab and after-school learning center for students, access to job training, GED and adult education programs for workers and businesses; and also offers life skills courses such as financial literacy, computer literacy and practical parenting. Meeting rooms also host community groups such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, 4-H and the YMCA. The Quincy House hours of operation excluding holidays are Monday - Thursday; 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday; 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

 

The Wakulla Center

Opened in January 2006, the Wakulla Center is TCC's first service center for residents of Wakulla County. Similar to TCC's other service centers, the Wakulla Center offers professional training and development services and provides after-school and summer programs. In addition, the Wakulla Center offers community workshops and continuing education courses specific to the needs and interests of the county's residents such as boating safety, fishing techniques and tips and coastal landscaping. Hours of operation for the Wakulla Center are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., excluding holidays.

 

T.K. Wetherell History and Social Sciences Building

The T. K. Wetherell History and Social Sciences Building, named for TCC’s fourth president, is the southernmost facility on campus, located adjacent to Pensacola Street.

Each classroom and lecture hall was designed to meet today and tomorrow's technology needs by providing ample room for expansion. Examples of multimedia capabilities in the classroom include teaching bunkers with overhead projection control, document cameras, video and audio reinforcement, instructional television with media retrieval from the central library and the ability to use portable teleconferencing equipment in the lecture halls.

 

University Center

The University Center, located on the southwest corner of campus just off Progress Drive, is the home to four of TCC’s University Partners: Barry University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Flagler College and Saint Leo University. Through partnerships with each institution, TCC offers students the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree without leaving campus.

 

William D. Law, Jr. Learning Commons

Opened in August 2008, The Learning Commons is a comprehensive, integrated learning center located adjacent to the library. It provides assistance and resources, in every subject, to all TCC students. In 2010, the facility was renamed in honor of TCC’s fifth president, William D. Law, Jr.

The Learning Commons provides students and faculty with a broad range of services, including diagnostic assessment, learning materials and electronic resources, and individual and small group tutoring. Whole class support, workshops and seminars, success strategies, technology and multimedia support, and assistance in developing and assessing individual learning plans is also available. Learning specialists, student success specialists and faculty collaborate to maximize learning and support student success.
