Below is an overview of the many sustainability initiatives that are happening at TCC.

- TCC a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)

4) Educational Programs
- Sustainability curriculum already being integrated into HSC 2122, Consumer Health
- National Science Foundation (NSF) project grant (EST²)
- TCC is a partner in project that created an 18 hour College Credit Certificate - Alternative Energy Systems’ Specialist technician training program in Florida (starts this Fall semester). TCC is the second community college in the state to offer this program.
- NSF EST² Project’s summer camp for middle school students. The first camp had a week-long focus on clean alternative energy and STEM studies and was held June 20, 2011. 20 campers from public housing participated.
- Training Partner of the Banner Center for Clean Energy (University of Central Florida – Florida Solar Energy Center [FESC] )
- Member of Sustainability Education & Economic Development (SEED) – Association of American Community Colleges
- TCC Presidential Commitment to SEED
- Florida Green Academy located at TCC
- Non-credit courses - Alternative Energy Training (solar and photovoltaic)
- Becoming a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Testing center (industry recognized certification in PV installation)
- Non-credit green courses - Green Cleaning, Weatherization, Water Management, Sustainable Building Practices, Environmental Management, Community Gardening, Bio-fuel Training, etc.
- Green Eco Activities at the TCC Wakulla Center (e.g., Certified Florida Green Guide Training)
5) TCC Foundation
- VP Robin Johnston participating member of the Tallahassee Town and Gown Initiative (Knight Foundation)
