Tallahassee Community College announces largest gift in school's history

Tallahassee Community College received a $2 million gift, the largest non-corporate individual gift in the College's history. Contributed by the Ghazvini family, this gift will enable TCC to enhance its soon-to-be-built Center for Health Education into a state-of-the-art training facility.

As a result of the gift, the new 65,000 square-foot Center for Health Education will feature cutting-edge technology; one example is a simulated patient care unit with highly sophisticated equipment that will give students valuable practice prior to their clinical assignments. The center has the potential to exponentially impact and improve TCC's ability to meet critical shortages of health care professionals while advancing the delivery of regional health care education. Plans include increasing enrollment capacity in TCC's health education programs by nearly 100 percent within the next five years.

Mina and Hossein Ghazvini have been married for 50 years and have raised three sons. The Ghazvinis instilled their boys with a strong work ethic and commitment to family and community. Mr. Ghazvini served in executive banking positions for more than 30 years before joining his sons in Tallahassee in 1989. Their oldest son, Mehrdad, operates Premier Construction/Capital Property Consultants and is married to Dr. Alisa Ghazvini, an early childhood consultant. Their second son, Behzdad, is an engineer who runs Sandco, an excavating and road-development company, and is married to Dr. Patty Ghazvini, a pharmacy professor at FAMU. The Ghazvini's youngest son, Mehran, is a chiropractor who owns Premier Health Clinic and Rehab of Tallahassee.
